Banana Republic and Ann Taylor Loft were among seven retailers confirmed Wednesday as the latest tenants to sign leases in The Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos, an upscale, 360,000-square-foot center under development in south Corona.
Months before the outdoor shopping center’s planned Oct. 6 opening, it is 88 percent leased, said Josh Poag, chief financial officer for Poag & McEwen Lifestyle Centers, the project’s developer.
Other tenants Poag named as the latest recruits to the outdoor lifestyle center taking shape along Interstate 15 at Weirick Road include bebe, a national retailer of women’s fashions, Windsor, a women’s apparel and accessory store, and Bakers, a retailer of fashion footwear for young women.
Frederick’s of Hollywood, the seller of women’s clothing, also was among the newly announced tenants.
Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill, a restaurant described as offering a moderately priced, innovative menu targeting families, also will be taking a spot at the mall, Poag said. It is the restaurant chain’s first location in the Inland Empire.
Poag said a year ago when the company started leasing space at the mall, which is part of the 543-acre master-planned Dos Lagos mixed-use community, many tenants said they did not know how to find Corona on a map.
But since then, Poag said, the growth in population and income in the Inland area, particularly in Corona, has attracted the attention of national retailers.
He said several of the retailers noticed that their Internet and catalogue sales burgeoned among Corona residents and that ultimately persuaded them to open stores at Dos Lagos.
The Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos had previously announced more than 40 other tenants, including Z Gallerie, Eddie Bauer and Coach. A number of the retailers already have opened stores at the upscale Victoria Gardens lifestyle center in Rancho Cucamonga.
